May 11, 2015 California Regional Stakeholder Meeting

The Promoting Innovation in Emergency Medical Services (P.I.E.) project will hold a regional stakeholder meeting on May 11th in San Diego. The project co-leaders from Mount Sinai Health System and University of California, San Diego will be present, as will representatives from the P.I.E. project co-sponsors at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, United States Department of Health and Human Services, and United States Department of Homeland Security. The project team will facilitate a discussion of local and regional barriers to innovation, and apply strategies and input from stakeholders around the nation to try to craft a strategy for overcoming those barriers to create an environment supportive of EMS innovation while protecting patient safety and maintaining appropriate levels of regulatory oversight. The project will be hosted by The West Health Institute.
